Strategic Foresight for National Innovation Excellence

Gusherlabs was honored to be invited to the Strategic Foresight Workshop organized by MACRA in collaboration with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
The workshop focused on using ITU’s Strategic Foresight Framework to explore how Malawi can strengthen its national innovation systems — shifting from siloed and fragmented structures to more integrated, visionary, and transformative approaches that anticipate future challenges and opportunities.
Throughout the sessions, we engaged in interactive foresight stages including: 1. Framing & Scanning 2. Mapping 3. Visioning 4. Transforming 5. Managing
Each activity encouraged collaborative thinking and long-term planning, helping shape an inclusive innovation ecosystem built for sustainability and impact. A key takeaway: Innovation must be intentional — strategically designed, collaboratively driven, and actively managed.
We extend our appreciation to MACRA and ITU for leading this transformative process and fostering a shared vision for a future-ready Malawi.
